Rental terms
Booking
Your booking is valid from the moment you receive an order confirmation by email/phone. Check that all details match your order. If there are any discrepancies, notify us immediately. The booking is binding from the time of ordering and thereafter subject to the cancellation terms under section 4 "Cancellations".

Great care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of all product information, marketing materials, and the mediation process. Visit Stranda cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies.
Please note that product suppliers may have their own specific terms and conditions, which are presented during the booking process.
We reserve the right for possible publication or proofreading errors on websites or in other printed materials distributed by Visit Stranda.
Rental periods
As a general rule, the following rental periods can be booked: single night, midweek, weekend, and week.
Rental price and payment
All prices listed on www.visitstranda.com are in Norwegian kroner (NOK), including VAT and all fees, unless otherwise stated. There is currently no tourist tax in the region. Payment is made using one of the accepted credit/debit cards for online booking, such as Visa or Mastercard.
We use a payment solution from Netaxept, allowing tenants to pay by Visa or Mastercard. No third party will have access to your personal information, as Netaxept uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) when transferring personal information. SSL creates a secure (encrypted) connection between your computer and Netaxept so information can be transferred safely without being read by unauthorized parties. Transactions are handled by Elavon, ensuring a safe purchase.
If taxes or fees change after the booking has been made and paid, the provider may increase the price accordingly, with immediate notice to the customer.
Payment plan:
- Booking and contract terms are confirmed upon booking.
- For group bookings, contact us.
Cancellations
If the tenant wishes to cancel the stay in advance, this can be done by notifying Visit Stranda as soon as possible in writing by letter or email, with reference to the order number. The cancellation is valid only when Visit Stranda has received and confirmed it.
- More than 28 days before arrival: no charge.
- 28–14 days before arrival: 50% of the rental amount will be charged.
- Less than 14 days before arrival: 100% of the rental amount will be charged.
Bookings that are moved cannot be changed or canceled.

Cancellation rules apply to the entire booking when day 1 falls under the rules.
Check-in
On the arrival date, you will receive an SMS to the phone number provided at booking with all necessary information before 16:00, provided payment has been completed.
From 16:00, you can go directly to the unit without checking in at reception. The message will include key/door code, coordinates, address of the unit, and relevant times.
If the unit is not properly cleaned upon arrival, report this within 2 hours after check-in by sending photos to booking@visitstranda.com, including your name and unit details. If not reported, the unit will be considered accepted. booking@visitstranda.com og merk med din enhet og ditt navn. Hvis ikke, anses enheten som akseptert.
Parking is at designated spaces at your own risk.
Guest obligations
This is a family-friendly place, and quiet hours are from 23:00–08:00. Noise or disturbance will be addressed; failure to comply may result in immediate eviction without a refund.
Violation of the no-smoking policy results in a cleaning fee of NOK 6000.
Pets are allowed in certain units for a small extra fee; check when booking or before arrival.
The tenant is liable for damages to the building or inventory and must cover extra costs caused by themselves or their guests. Replacement items will be billed at their actual repurchase cost.
If the unit must be taken out of service due to guest damage, the guest will be charged the current daily rate until it is operational again.

The guest must clean according to the provided cleaning instructions before departure. If cleaning is not approved, Visit Stranda will charge a fee based on the size of the property.
Any damage must be reported immediately by phone/email. If caused by the tenant, the cost will be charged directly or via a hold on the credit card.
Fire safety equipment:
Tampering with fire alarms or sprinkler systems will be charged NOK 1000.
Check-out and final cleaning
Check-out is no later than 11:00, unless otherwise agreed in advance. If late check-out occurs after 11:00, a fee of 10% of the stay price per hour will apply.
If you have a cabin with a code lock, simply close the door upon departure. If your unit has keys, they must be returned to our reception/mailbox at Strandvegen 17, 6200 Stranda, or at another agreed location.
We always inspect the unit on arrival and departure dates.
Complaints
If there are faults or deficiencies in the unit, the tenant is responsible for notifying us immediately, no later than 24 hours after the issue is discovered. Faults or deficiencies mean that the unit does not meet specifications stated in the description, legal requirements, or if technical equipment is not functioning (coffee maker, hot water, dishwasher, etc.). The tenant must, no later than 2 hours after check-in, contact the landlord directly or their representative if the unit does not comply with the agreement. After this deadline, the tenant is considered to have accepted the condition of the unit.
If the guest and Visit Stranda cannot reach an agreement, the matter will be referred to Sunnmøre District Court in Ålesund.
Transfer of rental agreement to a third party
If the tenant has a third party wishing to take over the rental contract for the agreed period and price, this can only be done by agreement with Visit Stranda.
Changes
Visit Stranda reserves the right to change the above terms without notice and to adjust prices due to VAT changes.
In special situations, such as damage or malfunction in the unit, Visit Stranda may move the tenant to another unit. For example, repairs may be needed to bring the unit up to its presented standard. If circumstances require moving bookings to another unit, Visit Stranda has the right to do so, and the tenant will receive a unit as close in standard to the rented unit as possible.
Right of Withdrawal
According to the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act, chapter 5, §19, paragraph b, the right of withdrawal does not apply to individual services if the seller commits to providing the service at a specific time or within a specific period. This includes products such as accommodation, excursions, transport, and activities sold through Visit Stranda. Instead, the cancellation rules apply.
Force majeure
Visit Stranda aims to carry out activities/accommodation as advertised but reserves the right to make changes due to circumstances such as weather, nature, technical problems, etc. You will be informed as soon as possible, and if no equivalent alternative can be offered, you are entitled to a full refund.
Visit Stranda is not responsible if sightseeing, hikes, or fishing experiences are negatively affected by weather conditions, nor for cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control.
If Visit Stranda cancels your booking, we are not liable for expenses incurred as a result of your reservation. If you cannot participate in an activity due to illness, injury, or other obstacles, there is no obligation for Visit Stranda to offer alternatives or refunds; the cancellation rules apply.
At your own risk
You must ensure you have insurance covering your planned activity from the time of booking. This should include coverage for the entire period of use, travel to/from the activity, and personal insurance, including medical emergencies.
You understand and accept the risks associated with participating in potentially action-filled activities. You participate at your own responsibility and risk.
Visit Stranda is not responsible for:
- Weather or other unforeseen/unavoidable events.
- Illness, injury, or death occurring during a trip.
- Loss of personal belongings.
- Any special medical needs, allergies, or dietary requirements not communicated at the time of booking.
Changes
Visit Stranda reserves the right to change the above terms without notice and to adjust prices due to VAT changes.
Visit Stranda may, in special situations where damage or malfunctions occur in the unit, rebook the tenant into another unit. This may include repairs needed for the unit to appear as presented. If situations arise that require Visit Stranda to move bookings to another unit, Visit Stranda has the right to do so. The tenant will then receive the unit that is closest in standard to the rented unit.
